Adjusted 30-Item Test Blueprint

Grade 6 | Mathematics | 6.RP.A (6.RP.A.1, 6.RP.A.2, 6.RP.A.3, 6.RP.A.3.a, 6.RP.A.3.b, 6.RP.A.3.c, 6.RP.A.3.d)

Executive Summary

This 30-item blueprint assesses Grade 6 Ratios and Proportional Relationships (6.RP.A) across seven sub-standards. Items are distributed to reflect the full progression from ratio concept and language through unit rate reasoning, equivalent ratio tables, percent problems, and unit conversion. The DOK distribution targets foundational recall (DOK 1: 6 items), procedural application (DOK 2: 12 items), strategic reasoning (DOK 3: 6 items), and extended reasoning (DOK 4: 6 items). Claim distribution approximates SBAC proportions: ~57% Claim 1 (17 items), ~27% Claims 2 & 4 (8 items), and ~16% Claim 3 (5 items). All five Learnosity item types are represented across the set.

Standards & Cognitive Rigor Summary

StandardDescriptionItemsDOK Levels
6.RP.A.1 Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. 4 DOK 1, DOK 2, DOK 3
6.RP.A.2 Understand the concept of a unit rate a/b associated with a ratio a:b with b ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. 4 DOK 1, DOK 2, DOK 3
6.RP.A.3 Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems (umbrella standard). 3 DOK 2, DOK 3, DOK 4
6.RP.A.3.a Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. 5 DOK 1, DOK 2, DOK 3, DOK 4
6.RP.A.3.b Solve unit rate problems including those involving unit pricing and constant speed. 5 DOK 1, DOK 2, DOK 3, DOK 4
6.RP.A.3.c Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100; solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent. 5 DOK 1, DOK 2, DOK 3, DOK 4
6.RP.A.3.d Use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units; manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying or dividing quantities. 4 DOK 2, DOK 3, DOK 4
